Does a 51.9% victory by a Republican in predominantly Democratice Machusetts constitute a blow or just a...?
Well 51.9% is clearly a squeaker. Plus too many people were calling Independents Democrats. Brown did not win by pushing the Republican Platforms of Anti-Gay talk, Anti Immigration talk, 2nd Ammendment Talk & God is A Southern Baptist Talk. They won because Brown pointed out the same sorts of things that Democrats have pointed out that oppose Obama's Healthcare plan. You have to remember Howard Dean of all people has been quoted as saying the Obama Healthcare plan is a horrible plan. The people of Machusetts didn't vote for Obama they voted for Hillary. This in no way makes Machusetts Republican. The people of Machusetts hate being a foregone conclusion. And Brown saying that the open seat belonged to the people rang a bell & resignated among the people of Machusetts. Plus the people who voted for & supported Ted Kennedy did not rally around the New Democratic Candidate. And if you think Ted Kennedy would have lost if he were still alive & able to run you're crazy. Caroline Kenedy would have won in a land slide if she would have ran & nobody would be saying anything about how Machusetts "changed" overnight.
