Does say-anything-to-win McCain regret trying to tie Obama with Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac lobbyists?

Any politician worth his salt could have pinned the '"easy mortgage" fiasco on Clinton, who placed the burden of his political decision on a reluctant financial sector. But the selection of Mrs Palin as Mr McCain's running mate is, or should be, grounds enough for Republican thinking people like me to hold their noses and put up with the prospects of Obama. We deserve it, as the Democrats deserved Bush by not putting up a stronger candidate against him.
